About

Welcome to the Catholic Pickings blog! This blog is attached to my YouTube channel Catholic Pickings, wherein I discuss Catholic topics and "pick" some music as well. Now allow me to introduce myself!
I'm Gregory, nineteen, and as you've probably guessed by the blog name, I am Catholic. I love to study and learn about the Mass, and am a proponent and lover of the Traditional Latin Mass especially. I guess I could be considered part of the "New Liturgical Movement". I hope to describe what it means for me to be part of this movement as I post stuff, hopefully!

As my title implies, I'm a kinda-maybe-musician; play guitar, mandolin, and can play bass but don't have one! I also try to record music whenever I get the chance.
Oh, how could I forget?...COFFEE! I really like coffee, most especially Mystic Monk Coffee. I like it so much I wrote this song about it! Wish I had an unlimited supply!

Saint Thomas More is my confirmation saint, and also one of my patrons. I mean "one of" my patrons because I can't pick just one.  Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, Pope Saint Gregory the Great, Pope Saint Pius X, Pope Saint John Paul the Great, Saint Francis de Sales, and a few others are all in there, but if I were to choose a top patron from whom I find inspiration and guidance it would be Bl. Frassati. That might, or might not change over time!

Anyway, onto smaller things. My favorite sport is cycling, which I do fairly often when it's not below 45°F or above 90°F...okay, I do cycle if it's hotter..I just don't like it much. Other interests/likes include winter, snow, cookies, chocolate, ice cream, cookies, snow, chickens, cute ducks, eating good healthy no nonsense food, never eating tofu, ending liturgical abuse, fighting heretics, beautiful vestments, cassocks, a growing interest in liturgically colored neck ties, and a whole bunch of other things I hope will come up in both this blog and my YouTube!

You will be in my prayers, and I ask that you pray for me too, specially in intercession to our Blessed Mother!
